if somebody exaggerates a bad experience with say, street harassment, that is more of a sign that society has lead her to believe that she is not justified in feeling that she has just been harassed, so she thinks it is necessary to make her story worse to receive any kind of sympathy.
so think about that the next time you want to call somebody an attention whore.
